The most important tip when it comes to hashtags.

This is for Instagram.

You may have tried a lot of hashtag sets or groups that work for a lot of other people with the same niche or target audience as you, but you consistently fail to get the same results, even after taking the difference in engagement and number of followers into consideration.

Aside from the fact that there are a lot of people who use hashtags that totally have nothing to do with the topic of the post, their niche, or their target audience, there are other forces that seem to be at play here.

Whether or not the people who regularly check out the hashtags you use will find your posts or page interesting to them is a whole different story.

It’s not just the size of the hashtag or how active it is. It’s who regularly checks out those hashtags and whether or not they’d like or care about your content in particular, even if other people with similar niches or target audience are doing better and getting more engagement with those same hashtags.
