No matter how many hours you sleep, you still need to meditate every day. Meditation is also needed for reasons other than resting. Like processing for example. It should be performed daily even if you’ve slept for 12 hours!
Don’t wait until you’re tired to start meditating. Do it like it’s physical exercise, something that is done for its positive short and long term benefits, not a resting mechanism or an opportunity to unplug from technology.
