Take action in the new direction you wanna venture toward, to anchor yourself to that new direction, instead of waiting for it to become a habit.
This is better than planning for it down because it still means you’ve never made any progress towards it or tasted how it will feel like in reality, in practice, when you actually accomplish it.
The very first step towards change in your life is to do something, anything, in that new direction you are trying to bring positive change to, as opposed to writing down a plan for it, or trying to develop a habit of doing that new thing gradually and slowly over a prolonged period of time. Just take action in the new direction, and it doesn’t have to be massive action. It just has to qualify as an achievement in and of itself.
