Self-esteem is everything.

Whatever the self means in psychology, when you have low self-esteem, that self collapses on its own every few minutes all day long.

Collapse is the most accurate word that describes it. After that collapse, you cease to exist, and then you have to chase anything that can give you a little bit of dopamine to be able to reach minimal level of functioning.

Don’t become like those who think psychology is wrongly consumed by the importance of self-esteem because they are far leftist snowflakes somehow. They are right about self-esteem.

And it is not synonymous with self-confidence, arrogance, or being selfish or self-absorbed. It’s the further step of there’s nothing wrong with you, which is the core of embracing all your parts without disowning any of them. It’s even better because instead of eliminating the negative, you establish the positive. You establish that you are good, perhaps even great. Instead of understanding that there’s nothing wrong with you only, it means everything is right with you, and is more than enough.

The self, whatever the self means in psychology, is important.

Self-esteem is important. Whomever tells you otherwise does not know what they’re talking about.

Work on your self-esteem. You are nothing without it.

What it means when they say narcissists are all about themselves.

It’s all about them when it comes to a narcissist doesn’t mean that you are one if you focused on yourself only for a little while or a certain period of your life to get through a hurdle or get something done. It’s about the fact that everything has to be about them, and they have to be the only center of attention, even if the thing is totally unrelated to them or is totally about other people. Even if the thing has nothing to do with them, they somehow manage to take the attention off of you and redirect it towards themselves, even if the subject matter itself is of no concern to them. For example, your birthday has to somehow be all about them, and you shall be forgotten all day long during it, like it doesn’t matter. They are more important. It has to be about them somehow, and they have to tell you how hard life is and always has been for them, or that they never got a chance to celebrate their own birthday their whole life.
