They are not as smart as you think. Why on earth would you give that much value to their criticism or judgment of you.

Most of those who think you’re dumb are not smart enough to realize you’re not. They have no idea you’re not one of them.

One reason that virtually everyone who speaks on the subject of protecting your energy or avoiding negativity or toxicity seems to overlook or be reluctant to mention, despite its importance when it comes to your ability to not stop yourself from or give up on pursuing the life of your dreams that you really want because of other people’s opinions or criticism of you or whatever that you do is the fact that those who are exercising such criticism or judgment upon you are very likely to have no idea what they’re talking about. Almost all of the time, they are too stupid to realize you are not as stupid as they think you are. Almost all of them fail to realize that you are not as unintelligent or bad as they think you are. They don’t have what it takes to figure out you’re not that stupid. And you seem to be insistent upon giving weight to their opinion about you and everything that you do or don’t do regardless. And even when they think you’re not as stupid as they thought you were, they don’t care, because that only makes it seem fair enough for them to attempt to destroy you and bring you down by any means necessary. How dare you be smarter or better than them in any way, shape, or form. They don’t have to be narcissistic to be capable of harming you. When I wrote the Genius Human, book 1 back in the day, the core motivation behind the book was to bring to your attention that nothing could ruin your life, assuming you really were a highly intelligent person like the belief that stupid people are harmless, or at least will be harmless to you or to smarter people in general. This is aside from the fact that negative energy that could come from negative people could be enough to make you fail miserably in life. It should come as no surprise to you that I never bothered to mention narcissism in the entirety of the book, because as pathological as it could ever get, nothing can cause you pain like being surrounded by a bunch of profoundly stupid people who unshakably think or believe they are superior to the majority of mankind in every way imaginable. I found that gap in human literature when it came to that subject, and I tried my best to make that point clear as daylight. Nothing could harm you, if you’re really intelligent enough to be considered Genius, like the existence of stupid people around you, especially living with them in the same place or home, or being in a relationship with them for any reason. Or like being present around them with no instant escape route available for you. Or existing somewhere where they can instantly exercise their idiocy upon you unchecked. Like Peterson argues that you should begin with cleaning your room first before attempting to fix the world or make it a better place, I argued that it is infinitely more important to clean up stupid people out of your life for good before attempting to do anything else. They don’t have to be responsible for any of your past traumas or suffering. They just have to qualify as stupid enough in order for them to go. They should have no place in your life, no matter what, even if you wanted to, even if they did nothing wrong to you or to anyone else. If you want to stop being angry all the time for no apparent reason, clear stupid people out of your life.

For some reason you have no problem with being told toxic people should have no place in your life, no matter what. But when I say stupid people must have no place or existence in your life no matter what, you start thinking I’m a toxic person myself, when all I wanted is to get you in the right environment in order for you to become fully what you’re meant to be, because no amount of mindset could help you bypass the negative effects of having stupid people in your life. It’s worse than any amount of negativity or pessimism that could suck your energy and enthusiasm. It’s enough to suck all your energy, enthusiasm, excitement, and even intelligence, in a few milliseconds, assuming of course you have any.

You can be the best, even if no one on earth knows you exist.

People can be totally unaware of your existence, even if you are the best at what you do.

The reason why you think decreased engagement, reach, views, or rate of gaining followers or subscribers means you’re not doing good, that you are not as good as you used to be, that there’s something wrong with your content, or that your content is not good enough is because you believed the higher engagement, reach, views, or rate of gaining followers or subscribers that you used to get or have in the past was because you were better, you were doing better, or that your content was better in the past.

You think you’re doing bad now, because you think you were doing any better earlier. And you think the increase in these metrics that you had in the past is proof or evidence enough for the fact that you were amazing back then. And that’s why you believe in case you experience some decrease in engagement, reach, views, or follower or subscriber gaining rate, that it’s all your fault, and that it means that your content isn’t that good anymore, is not as good as it were before, or that the quality of your content or posts isn’t as great as it used to be. And you think that this is why people are leaving. You are panicking, because you thought they came because you were amazing. That’s why you think you suck now because they’re leaving. You think the market is always right, and you’re pandering to it, all while preaching authenticity and being yourself to the fullest. You think the early and quick success you had from the start or in the past was because of how awesome you are or were back then, and that is why you think your current failure is all on you, is all because you suck. And that’s why you’re now crying when they left you now, because this must mean and indicate how horrible you are right now, at least in terms of the quality of your content or how good you really are currently at what you do. You think that your quick, early, and easy success was because you were awesome, and that’s why your self-esteem is affected negatively by the negative feedback you’re now getting from the people who think you’re no longer worthy of their time.

I understand that algorithms are sometimes, (most of the time actually), unfair and not so reflective of how good you really are. But this is bigger than the algorithm just being a liability here. This is about you believing that how people receive what you do is an accurate measure of how good it really is. You think that the opinion of the majority is always right. Or at least almost always closer to the truth than the opinion of certain individuals, random single people, or the minority. I’m not trying to tell you it’s all privilege. It’s not about telling you that we don’t live in a meritocracy. This isn’t about criticizing corruption. This is not about waking you up to the fact that life is not fair. It’s about pointing out that your faith in the market is highly misplaced. You think people are right, and you’re wrong, because they’re so many, and you’re just one. Science doesn’t work this way. Why do you think stuff that cannot be verified or confirmed by Science, the scientific method, or scientific research, works any differently? Something isn’t right, true, or considered to be the indisputable truth or factual in science just because the majority of scientists think or say so. Why do you think you suck just because the majority of people think or say so?

Most of those who preach self-love all day long want nothing but to make you hate yourself, your nature, and who you are, to the fullest. Acceptance, in this case, will be for whatever that remains afterwards. The ruins of who you truly are, or once were, before you knew them.

No, we’re not the same. And we shouldn’t ever try to be.

The overwhelming majority of the advice you get for how you should manage yourself as a creative person is unfortunately coming from pure small business owners who just happened to know a thing or two about how to market themselves online. No more, no less. You are getting how you should treat yourself as a profoundly or abundantly creative person, like Leonardo DaVinci type of creative person, from people who are very good at selling awesome products and getting clients from wherever. Just because they seem to be intuitive, because they like walks in nature and traveling to random landscapes every other day. You think you have something in common, and so you get all your strategies from them. You’re not even trying to get them from people who are exclusive content creators, because they seem to be too random, too unprofessional except when it comes to the equipment they use, and they look like they don’t give a damn about anything. Too nihilistic to know anything reliable that you can count on and try to implement in your creative life.

Yet they’re closer to creativity than small business owners could ever be, which means, you’re not even trying.

I’m not telling you screw them, you should take all your advice from me instead because I know what I’m talking about. It has nothing to do with me. You can take that kind of advice from highly creative individuals, like prolific writers, musicians, painters, singers, actors, film or movie makers, or artists in general. People who have intrinsic motivation to be creative and to do or make creative stuff, with disregard to how much money they make from it. Even if they make tons of money from it, they still can make money through countless other ways, but they don’t care. They don’t want to make more money. They just want to create in peace. They would do it anyway even if they can’t make any money from it, because to them, this seems to be the only thing that should be considered the true purpose of life. Even if what they do cannot be monetized, they’re going to keep doing it anyway, because creating something amazing is the ultimate reward they’re after. Everybody needs money to survive. Only a few need creativity to survive.

Business owners only create because they have no choice, and it’s good for marketing their business. They are measuring the ROI of what they’re doing, coldly calculating it through statistics and analytics like psychopaths, wondering what’s in it for their business. How is that going to make them more money. How is that helpful for their brand, which would make them eventually more popular, which is great in and of itself, and would also grant them the opportunity or potential to make their business more successful and bring in more money.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not against any of these people. Just be careful where you get your advice from. They are operating from a whole different dimension or universe. We’re not the same, and we shouldn’t try to be. Remember who you are, and be proud of it.

They sometimes tell you to not bother to create more content, or any content at all, because you can still make money, get clients or leads, and run a successful business without getting sucked into the content creation hamster wheel, which would eventually lead you to burnout, and not necessarily making the amount of money that would make it worth the effort, or make your life easier. In short, they outsmarted you by still being able to sell, without posting as much, or at all.

No amount of money, success, fame, popularity, love, or anything in the world would ever make up for the lack of creativity in your life. Nothing. Unless you’re not a truly creative individual. You need creativity for its own sake. You need to create something massive, something amazing, until fatigued, every single day, or else you’ll go crazy.

You cannot arrive at your full creative potential if you are still reluctant to be or say something that turns out to be wrong at some point afterwards.

Not caring about what other people think of you should not be confined to what you do only, but should extend to include what you think as well. It affects your creativity more than you think.

You cannot think freely or to the fullest without being unafraid of being wrong. If you’re afraid of ever being wrong, you will never be able to think truly. You might think that this is some form of thinking, but it’s actually not. It’s just random acts of recalling stuff from memory. Just as you cannot fully articulate your thoughts if you’re reluctant to offend someone, you will not be able to form any thoughts if you’re afraid of being wrong, proven wrong, scientifically inaccurate, or factually mistaken or incorrect. You cannot think at all if you’re afraid of the consequences of thinking what you’re about to think. You won’t be able to think at all in the first place if you’re afraid of any negative consequences that might take place because of you engaging in that thought process. In order to have freedom of thought, and not just speech, you have to exist in a place or environment that supports that kind of behavior and won’t punish you for the content of what you think in the first place. Since most people don’t articulate what they think all the time, they might not suffer because of the lack of support for freedom of thought in their life or environment, but since you’re a creative individual, you will not be able to think something without almost always publishing it somewhere. That’s why, in your case, absence of absolute freedom of speech might render you totally helpless, because you’ll notice that in such an environment, you’re not just losing your ability to speak your mind freely, you’re losing your ability to think at all in the first place as well. In case there are no restrictions on your right to freedom of speech, you can still find yourself held back from any type of free thinking if you exercise upon yourself restrictions upon your freedom of thought that could potentially lead to similar results. If you still have some fear of making mistakes, you will find yourself having no option but to restrict yourself from thinking gradually over time until you cannot generate enough new thoughts to remain significantly creative as you used to be as well. Even though the issue here is still not the absence of your full rights to freedom of speech, the end result of both cases remains virtually similar, at least when it comes to your creative potential and how much you can really think for yourself. As long as you’re afraid of what’s going to happen when you express yourself, speak your mind, or fully and accurately articulate your thoughts, you will not be able to think them in the first place, whether that is because of lack of freedom of speech, or reluctance to say something that turns out to be wrong, factually incorrect, or not scientifically accurate at some point in the future, whether that lack of knowledge was exclusive to you or was also the case with everybody else, because for example this thing hasn’t been discovered or extensively researched yet to the fullest. If you’re afraid of looking bad, you will look even worse than you think, whether you like it or not. If you’re not afraid of being mistaken, there’s no stopping you from arriving at or coming to new conclusions, some of which will certainly be worthy of scientific recognition. This isn’t about making scientific discoveries even if you are totally unqualified to do so. This is about having another form of limiting belief that is adjacent to it, that still exists and holds you back dramatically from being at your full creative potential, even though what you’re reluctant to say has nothing to do with science in any way, shape, or form whatsoever. I don’t want you to start calling your feelings science or something that is more important than or more reliable than science. I just want you to understand that your reluctance to be wrong or say something that turns out to be totally wrong is due in no small part to being shamed heavily in the past for having an opinion when it comes to something that falls entirely and exclusively under the category of science or indisputable scientific facts or theories.

You are still afraid of what others might think of you.

There are more limitations on your creativity than you think. And you are responsible for almost all of them.

Let’s assume you’re no longer afraid of judgment by other people. You are no longer held back by that limitation. Still, there’s something deeper that is limiting you and your creativity way more than fear of judgment is, not because fear of judgment is not going to hold you back significantly, but because you are unaware of what branches or stems from fear of judgment that might be even worse than the mere reluctance to speak your mind because of what others might think of you. One of these branches is the fact that you are still afraid of saying something that turns out to be factually incorrect at some point in the future. And not just out of ignorance, but out of the fact that no one knows the truth about this thing yet, or this thing hasn’t been scientifically discovered or researched extensively enough yet. If science will reveal you were wrong about something in the future, you might think, well, no one else knew that what I’ve said is wrong until then, so it wasn’t my fault. I did the best I could within the limits I had back then. You are likely to be less embarrassed in this case than you would if it was a well-established fact even years before you’ve said it. But that’s not the whole story. You are afraid of using your mind at all, because of the fear of making that kind of mistakes. How you jumped from this to that is astonishing to say the least. The problem isn’t with the fear of making scientific mistakes. It is with the fear of making any kind of mistakes, whether scientific or not. You can avoid making scientific mistakes easily by researching enough about the subject matter that is of concern to you at the moment before you proceed on to discuss anything related to it. The problem is with your reluctance to generate or have any opinion, conclusion, realization, belief, or thought about anything whatsoever, because you’re afraid of being wrong scientifically or otherwise. In the end, you will neither be able to think for yourself, nor be able to understand anything that could be described as scientific, because this is forbidden territory for you, and you’re not allowed to be wrong or make any mistakes whatsoever, and you’re not allowed to think for yourself or question anything because who do you think you are. And for you to stop questioning everything, you’ll have to quit thinking altogether. No one said that whatever you say will be published in scientific journals or taken as scientific gospel or be considered factual without any further investigation. Which means that the only reason you’re afraid of such kind of mistakes is what others will think of you. That’s why it’s only rational to consider this as something that could branch out of your fear of judgment, which you think you’ve totally beaten recently by being unapologetically yourself. Now you know why you haven’t made much progress in this area. You are still afraid of thinking lest you’d end up embarrassing yourself and saying something that doesn’t exist yet, because all you do is regurgitate what has already been recently discovered by science.

You are not in control as you think you are. Still, it doesn’t mean you should stop thinking or trying to be in full control as much as possible.

If what’s emerging from your unconscious is not against what you really want, try working with it instead of suppressing or neutralizing it.

There are things that happen on their own in your mind without you inducing them, without you initiating them.

Still, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to submit control to them.

If you realized that the thing that seems to be going on beyond your control is not that bad, or essentially neutral, you may be tempted to not waste any significant amount of energy fighting with them, because the end result will not necessarily be any better.

With or without these unconscious thought processes or seemingly negative feelings, your life remains no different.

It might seem wise to fight everything that doesn’t make sense, but the very act of fighting something that eliminating it won’t make much of a difference in your life is responsible for the perpetual sense of guilt that you have more than you think, because the mere fact of having directed your energy toward an outcome that is possible to attain but doesn’t make much of the needed difference in your life might only serve as an indication that it’s all hopeless and pointless, because even though you did everything right, and you managed to accomplish an objectively great outcome, after careful assessment by your unconscious mind of your current situation, you still arrive at the conclusion that your life is virtually or almost the same as it was before taking action. Nothing worth it has changed. There’s almost zero difference when it comes to why you are still suffering.

You can attempt to dismiss that by sprinkling in some positivity and gratitude, only to end up thinking you’re a bad person because no matter what you do or have, you can’t seem to be grateful for anything. Only resentment can be felt by you in this case. Nothing is working. Nothing seems to work. It’s hopeless. Why am I even trying. Everything seems to be pointless and meaningless. The ironic thing here is that you are experiencing an exaggerated sense of these feelings after the accomplishment, not after wasting huge proportions of your time doing nothing for example.

You have to understand that there are certain things that need to be done as fast as you can. You don’t have all the time in the world. You want to taste it, before something inside of you dies or attempts to irreversibly give up. Lights will turn themselves off for good at some point due to too much failure, and there will be no turning back.

This is where the unexplained perpetual sense of urgency that high performance individuals seem to all possess stems from. They know they don’t have time, even if to the external observer, they seem to have plenty of it. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that your mind can talk you out of doing anything you attempt to do if you hesitated to do it for more than five seconds. Imagine what it would do if your reluctance to take action extended to a period that equals five years. Nothing is humanly possible to be postponed that long while retaining the desire to do it. Doing this to yourself is not a form of luxury, it’s a form of self-inflicted torture. You’re not meant to be that patient. This is why Gary Vaynerchuk puts the disclaimer speed in the micro every time he mentions how we’re supposed to be patient in the macro. No ultra successful person is that laid-back. You can’t be so chill, and super successful at the same time. It feels like it’s never enough because you’re working on the wrong thing because you were told it’s going to lead to quicker results. You will never feel rewarded this way, if all you cared about is doing something right, instead of doing the one right thing that you know you should be doing at this stage or point in your life. Your thoughts are going to kill you, and there will be no escape.

You can post several videos a day on YouTube easily, without that leading to decreasing your reach or people abandoning you for good.

Unlike other platforms, you don’t have to decrease your posting frequency on YouTube in order to avoid people unsubscribing from your channel.

There’s no such thing as too much posting on YouTube. This is an issue that exists only on lesser platforms.

The algorithm is gonna show your audience an old video of yours anyway after they finish your recent one. If you happened to have posted 6 more times during the same day for example, all that is going to happen is that the algorithm is going to suggest for you to watch one of those new ones instead in your home feed or suggested menu. It was going to show them an old video anyway had you not posted more than once today.

I understand that you might have several reasons for why you don’t want to post more than once a day or week on YouTube. Just make sure the belief that this will spam your audience into unsubscribing from your channel is not one of them.

You will also not get slower growth or less engagement because of posting more on YouTube. They have no shame pushing out videos of yours from four years ago.

The very thing that you deploy in order to avoid missing out on life is the very thing that leads to you missing the entirety of it.

Being focused on the journey or the present moment doesn’t lead to anything special. It just makes you fully present during the process of wasting your whole life.

Meditation is just a tool perfectly designed to crush your creativity, intelligence, productivity, desire to live, and who you are, and exacerbate whatever depression and self-loathing you already have. It has been created by religious people who believe that everything about you and your nature is wrong, flawed, sinful, and needs to be crushed in order to facilitate and pave the way for the process of religious indoctrination. Surprisingly enough, it is being utilized by new age spirituality proponents for similar reasons or agendas. There’s nothing good that can come from repressing your impulses. True enlightenment, fulfillment, and growth comes from pursuing and following your desires and impulses to the fullest.

There are people who gave up on life. Gave up on even trying. Trying to live it, or be part of it in any sense. They call this wisdom because they envy everybody else who is actually living their lives to the fullest. They consider themselves to be wiser, superior to the rest of the population, because they are so special they totally refuse to participate in life at all in any manner. They just sit there all day long meditating. They are too good to do anything. They just exist, and this existence is all there is. They just be. And they have everything they will ever want or need within themselves. After all, they are the enlightened, and you are still a beginner. Who are you to judge. Wisdom belongs to them only. After all, they speak slowly, and it is fact that turtles are superior to all faster animals. You cannot question their profound stupidity or infinite emptiness and nothingness, because you are not enlightened, actualized, or superior to the rest of existence yet. They are closer to source more than you could ever be. Their presence is so terrifying. So overwhelming. They seem to need nothing, want nothing, and do nothing. Ever. So perfect in every way imaginable, despite criticizing perfectionism every step of the way. They have all the answers, despite having none. They claim to know nothing, and simultaneously know everything, and because of their superior knowledge, they arrived to the conclusion that they know nothing, they cannot know anything with certainty, and nothing can ever be fully known or understood. Ever. They are still superior to you though, no matter what you do, and no matter who you are or what you become. You cannot compete with them, because you are reluctant to waste your whole life doing absolutely nothing at all, in the name of joining the ranks of the enlightened or fully actualized. They won the game, by not playing it. They never played it, and they never will. Any real life challenge, or any challenge there is, is beneath them. Except the challenge of repressing themselves all the time until they have nothing left to ever need to repress. They will always be better than you at controlling their impulses and urges, because they have none. And for some reason you allowed them to brainwash you into believing that this is somehow better. All their claims are unfalsifiable. You cannot prove them wrong, except by trying to be alive, for once.

There’s no such thing as having too many goals.

Why you need to consistently add to your goals, instead of subtracting from them, contrary to what most productivity experts tell you.

You want to enjoy the journey. You think that focusing on your goals will make time fly away without you feeling good except for a few seconds after you reach a certain big goal. This mindset is one of the major causes of your suffering. You have been misled terribly. I can’t imagine many examples of damaging beliefs or mindsets that have the potential of leading to worse effects than focusing on the journey or the process instead of focusing on your goals, which only someone who has the exact opposite of your best interest in mind could indoctrinate you with. This is a mindset that has the capacity to mislead you your whole life like no other. You tend to think of focusing on your goals as opposed to focusing on the journey to be something that means you will only focus on a certain massive goal that will only come to existence twenty years into the future. And in return for reaching that goal, you will have to sacrifice twenty years in order to get to it. Twenty years of labor and hard work, while getting nothing in return. You heard wrong. You have been misled big time.

Ever heard of dividing your big goals into smaller ones which will make them easier and less challenging to accomplish? Ever heard of the notion that when trying to establish a new habit, it’s better to start small, in order to get used to doing the challenging activity first, before moving on to attempting to do the whole thing on the regular? There are goals everywhere. You just didn’t notice them because you were heavily indoctrinated.

Okay, so at this point I hopefully managed to convince you that goals don’t have to be something huge that can only exist decades later in the future. Why is that important? Why should you care? What difference does this make? Where exactly have we been misled?

You can have ten goals that you can accomplish today, not in ten years. There’s nothing wrong with that. However, this is not an attempt to convince you to do something that you hate for a living. This is not an attempt to make you give up on your dreams, following your passion, or doing what you really want or love. At all.

The part where you’ve been misled isn’t in the fact that goals can be smaller than you think, or that goals don’t have to be too far from your reach, and can only be something that can only happen in the future, after so many years of labor and hard work. It’s in the fact that focusing on the journey is somehow better than being focused only on your goals. That is insanely wrong on so many levels I can’t count. Nothing exists outside accomplishing goals. There is no journey. Whatever you think is part of the journey is a goal in disguise. If for example you are taking a shower, and you decided to enjoy the shower a little bit longer because it feels good, that is not journey. That is having the goal of enjoying the shower in addition to the goal of cleaning your body. If anything, you’ve just increased your goals. You’ve added to your goals, instead of subtracting from them. You didn’t focus on the journey of taking a shower by enjoying it a little bit longer. You decided to add the goal of enjoying the shower to the already existing goal of getting the process of cleaning your body over with so that you can go do what you really want to do today. So now you have two goals, cleaning your body, and enjoying the shower in the meantime. As you can see here, I wasn’t exaggerating when I said nothing exists outside of goals. There is no journey to enjoy. There is no journey that exists somewhere that you can only start to experience and really enjoy once you decrease your focus on your goals and start directing it a little bit toward smelling the roses. Focusing on the journey will not lead to something that cannot be reached by increasing the number of your goals. Focusing on the journey can only be accomplished through stopping the entire process of pursuing goals altogether. You can only focus on the journey at the expense of your goals. You can only focus on the journey through decreasing the number of your goals. You can only focus on the journey by sacrificing the desire to reach any goal you can have or set. You can only focus on the journey instead of focusing on your goals, never simultaneously. You can only focus on the journey through abandoning the pursuit of your goals. You can only focus on the journey through abandoning the entire process of goal setting altogether. You can only focus exclusively on the journey through abandoning the entirety of the process of wanting or desiring to accomplish any goals whatsoever. You either focus on the journey, or focus on getting things done. You cannot have both, even if you wanted to. And there’s nothing that cannot be turned into a goal that you can desire and attempt to accomplish or achieve. Nothing. Not even the tiniest or smallest of activities or habits. Even eating lunch today is a goal. Just take a look at your to-do list and you’ll understand what I’m talking about. Ultra long-term goals are not the only goals there is out there. There can be micro goals and very small goals every step of the way as well. You just overlook them because they told you to. You can only focus on the journey through no longer caring about your goals or accomplishing any goals whatsoever.

I am not against rest. I divided the recovery process into regeneration, and absolute rest. Both of which do not include sleeping every day until fully rested, no matter what. You need to be yourself, before you can try to live, and you cannot do that while feeling exhausted all the time. You can’t pour from an empty cup. I understand that. But life isn’t about resting or avoidance of burnout. It’s about being alive. It’s not dying you need to be afraid of. It’s not having lived in the first place. Plan your life accordingly.

Reward is important. By wandering around aimlessly all the time, you will end up missing the entirety of it.

However, not all rewarding behaviors and activities are created equal.

Some are more rewarding than others. Seek them out, and give them your full focus.

Sometimes saying yes is harder than saying no.

The ugly truth about having an imaginary audience.

You can always come up with a ton of reasons as to why you shouldn’t try to write. There’s always a reason why not to do something. But when it comes to writing, the list of reasons will more often than not tend to expand itself the more you think about it. Not only what you’re attempting to write will subject you to your own potential criticism of yourself, it puts you under the pressure of being judged by many people, most of which will be the kind of people who are smart enough to understand what you’re talking about. That latter pressure is exacerbated by the fact that you’re most likely expecting that to take place at some unknown time in the future, because when you’re still starting out, chances are, no one will read your work at a time that is close to that which it has been published. You don’t know how people are going to receive it, because you never got any feedback from any person among the living. So you’re doing your best to make sure that the amount of work that will be currently present at the time where people will discover you exist in the future does not contain any tiny mistake that could be overlooked if your work was judged every step of the way by others, and not as a whole suddenly years later from when you began it, where the end result of these inevitable tiny mistakes will be hard to overlook, because tiny little mistakes that pile up year after year are bound to amount to something that is too obvious to ignore, that matches the size of a mountain that is worthy of mentioning over and over again by every serious critic that can potentially come across it someday. The problem isn’t in the very existence of these mistakes. Not even when they are too huge to overlook or ignore. The problem is that you need to stay too hypervigilant trying in a futile attempt to minimize such mistakes to the best of your ability, because people cannot discover you if your work is trash. And you can’t know whether or not you meet the minimum threshold required for discoverability without relying entirely on your imagination as the ultimate tool that you have no option but to resort to in order to determine whether or not the current reasons for the fact that you haven’t been discovered yet have nothing to do with the quality of your work, which nevertheless, you need to work on improving anyway in order to stay sharp. No one told you why your work sucked. And that is driving you crazy. You have no option but to minimize the necessity of having to go back and spend a couple of years editing loads and loads of your work that only at some point in the future you grew an extra brain cell that allowed you to understand why it’s horrible beyond imagination in a fashion that renders it criminal to not go back and spend as much time just to get the quality of your work above zero. A quality that doesn’t make anyone who has read more than two books in their life so far not feel too nauseous. People are here to feed their brains, not to pay an emergency visit to the hospital only to be told that their labs came all back negative. The reason behind their ailment is entirely psychological. In other words, you. That constant pressure, coupled with denial of reward as a result of lack of any kind of immediate gratification whatsoever from what you’ve accomplished so far, makes you associate writing with something that puts you under immense stress almost all of the time during the writing process and afterwards, with nothing to show for it that could serve as proof that it was all worth it, at least to your unconscious mind, that keeps telling you that we are working hard all the time and still nothing is happening. There are enough voices up there, and you want to keep them to a minimum as much as you could. I’m sorry but this story has no happy ending. There’s no solution to this problem but to get discovered.
