It is common for narcissistic abuse victims to feel like nothing ever works for them or that they never get any better no matter what they do or how hard they try, despite doing everything right, like everybody else.

You might find yourself always doubting or denying that you’re improving.

You might feel like you’re not getting any better, no matter what you do or how hard you try, despite doing everything right.

You might always minimize what progress you’re making even when you’re doing great.

This might happen because some people in the past told you repeatedly that you will never get any better no matter what you do or how hard you try. It has nothing to do with actual lack of progress.

It doesn’t mean that it is pointless to even try, because improvement, progress, achievement, or fixing things for you is impossible. This is important, because in this case, you keep changing what you do all the time to get better results, but nothing happens.

This is a classical example for when the underlying problem is not with you, or your strategy, or whatever strategy you are following, but with your lack of awareness that most of the beliefs you have about yourself and the world aren’t yours, but are those of your abusers. They belong to those who worked so hard for years to sabotage your life, ruin your future, and destroy your life by any means necessary.

Make sure that you get rid of all those beliefs.

You are improving, if you’re really doing everything right. You just can’t access that improvement yet, because you don’t believe it can exist, because your limiting beliefs that came to you from your abusers tell you that you will never be something, you will never be good enough, you will never succeed, and you will never amount to anything. Such beliefs block your access to whatever improvement you’ve attained over the years, and makes you feel like you’re stuck at square one forever.

You can’t use your new powers, if you don’t believe they exist or could exist in the first place.
