A Collection of various unrelated thoughts.

Mostly from LinkedIn.

I’m a perfectionist and it never occurred to me to call my questions stupid to water down the potential judgment I might get for asking them.

I’m not being cruel or heartless here, but please, hear me out.

Do not believe abusers, no matter what.

Even when they’re sincerely apologizing to you for everything that they have ever done to you, they’re abusing and manipulating you. Let that sink in. They are pseudo-human. They are fake humans.

Why do I laugh at the idea of a morning routine?

Why do I jump to work right away?

The moment right after I wake up from sleep, I find that I am not in a good mood to do anything enjoyable. So work seems like a good fit. It’s not discipline that gets me to do it. It’s the lack of discipline. It’s when I’m most not motivated, and everything seems to be more difficult, and I feel like I’m still sleeping, so why not get the part that sucks most over with fast already so that I can enjoy fun activities later on guilt free?

As soon as we realize that we don’t always follow logic, we will become better at managing ourselves. Be open to any trick that makes you able to work or be more productive.

What is more important than learning from mistakes is to not be afraid of making mistakes. This will make us less reluctant to embark on any daunting journey.

  • Notice that children often are the problem when it comes to who’s being too strict with mistakes. They often try to correct you more, as opposed to you believing you instilled that into their innocent brains through instructing them too strictly. This is because the parts that make you override the urge to correct mistakes are still underdeveloped in children. It’s not the absence of action you need to be able to not stop at every mistake. It’s an active process that requires ample energy.

Gary Vee always wonders if we hated him at first or not.

I didn’t not love Gary Vaynerchuck at first. I never hated him at first. It’s just that it felt like this 50 something dude is saying practical shit that I can apply today. I got hooked. I underestimated you at the beginning. I thought you were the smallest of all influencers I know. But when I heard you say the success you made. Where I am now. Stuff like that, several times, I said: wait a minute? Is this guy like famous? Not just an old dude giving random wisdom for free? And then I checked it out. Then I said: OMFG. I had no idea. Then I became a serious fan. And the rest as they say is documented through my content.

How to take risks without sacrificing reason in the process.

Nowadays not taking any risks is the actual risk. That rule for example, should not be an excuse to not think before you act.

Notice that you don’t have to treat any given rule like gospel. You have to make up your mind in every situation and not rely on the rule to make the decision for you. That said, you don’t have to put yourself in danger to get good results. It only means that you are supposed to not avoid everything that you are sure is for your own good because you might fail several times before you reach the intended outcome. Just don’t be afraid of making mistakes like it’s a college test. But in the meantime, don’t be reckless or self-sabotaging.

We’re boring to ourselves because we’ve always been stuck with ourselves? It’s like eating your favorite meal over and over again until you can no longer stand it. Doesn’t mean it’s any less delicious. Doesn’t mean it sucks. But for other people, you are always fresh.

We have to be more flexible if we ever hope to make our lives better than average one day.

Work to create a life that feels right to YOU, not one that looks right to everyone else.

Don’t do stuff that you hate just for the money.

Success without fulfillment is the ultimate failure.

Follow your passion. Do what you love.

Honesty is an integral part of any healthy relationship.

Craft the best life for you so that you can start enjoying the present. That’s the only way to not waste your life chasing a better future. Nothing fixes itself on its own. Be proactive.

Don’t spend your time with people who treat your mind or working memory like a trash can.

I’m not comfortable with the idea of cryptocurrency.

Here me out please. They say it’s the future, and bla bla bla.

Still the entirety of it feels like we’re selling drugs in the black market. And when you question that practice, you get a response like: they can’t catch us all because it’s decentralized. Also MLMs are legal. Doesn’t make it right, which means that they can get fed up with it at any point and declare war against it.

Why do you feel refreshed, energetic, and motivated after taking a shower?

It has an explanation. The smell is tolerated by you and you don’t notice it. That subconscious suppression of feeling it takes energy. Also your skin cannot perform sweating as efficiently. Now your body cannot worry about overheating, and thus has no problem with increasing your metabolism.

Don’t escape a job you hate only to trap yourself in starting a business that makes your life exactly the same.

I understand that what you do can be complex. You don’t want to restrict yourself from all you want. You don’t have to be or do just one thing. I recently realized that despite this, I can only mention one thing, and the rest would be discovered by my true fans through careful consumption of my content. For example, I didn’t stop being a writer when I identified myself as a Life Coach. Still, I only mention that I’m a Life Coach now, in order to not scare people off because in their mind they are thinking: I only asked for one thing, and now you’re telling me your life story.

Generally speaking, one’s most productive time is the moment they wake up. Start your day with the hardest task of the day immediately after you wake up. This is where you have the best energy. Of course you might feel smarter or faster as the day goes by due to warming up and increased activity and reward (hopefully), but in terms of energy, the earlier it is, the better.

2020: I’m the worst year ever.

2021: Hold my scotch…

The self help industry is empty. And I’m here to fill it up.

Time heals nothing. It’s what you choose to do with your time that makes all the difference.

Don’t count the days. Make the days count.

Although things like exercise, good diet, sleeping, meditation, or coffee might raise your energy a little bit, they will never increase your total or maximum amount of energy of the day that you could ever have. No controversy about the fact that any of the above can help you perform better.
However, in my research along the years I realized that energy is no more than brain power. How much can the cells work before getting exhausted. As opposed to the car needs more fuel. It’s not like the cell phone battery. It’s the iPhone itself. The better the smartphone, the greater its energy (or speed and performance). This is the same with us. That’s why motivation doesn’t last. The phone itself is the problem. Not that the battery needs to be recharged.

Every idea is a good idea. Every idea is a bad idea.

Don’t beat yourself up too much.

I started writing when I was 16. It was beyond garbage. I didn’t care, because it made me focus on new stuff instead of being stuck in the past with the same thoughts. Over the years I found that the quality didn’t remain the same.

DON’T FOLLOW THE MONEY. FOLLOW YOUR PASSION, EVEN IF IT DIDN’T BRING YOU THE MOST MONEY YOU CAN POTENTIALLY MAKE.

I felt that the factor that most helps is the number of videos you put out there. Exposing yourself to the world and potential public embarrassment and shaming more. That breaks the fear. More than practicing in front of a mirror. The camera is an inanimate object that doesn’t bite. We’re not afraid of it. Practicing in front of a camera without publishing any of that won’t break the ice. Won’t do you any good. We’re afraid of the receiving end. Not just hate comments, but being judged internally, even if silently, by the masses.

I am not here to receive stamps of approval from people.

I heard once when I was young, you won’t attain knowledge unless you’re willing to learn from those who are ahead of you, those who are at the same level as you, and those who are below you.

Part of you that feels your deception or detects that you’re a fraud might attack you in the form of imposter syndrome. Counter attack that by being genuine, following your passion, and not pretending to be something you’re not.

Comparing yourself to others might make you frustrated because you’ll always find people who are doing better than you. Just because the population is now 7+ billion. It doesn’t mean you suck. You can still draw inspiration or raise your standards by paying attention to how good some other successful people are doing though. It’s okay as long as it does not end up making you feel like crap.

When I tried sales as a salesperson in real life some 7 years ago or more, I kinda came to a new realization about what the not enough energy complaint was all about. It was about worrying about money, and not having enough dopamine generally in your life, to counter the naturally occurring negative feelings you get as a newbie salesperson every time you get rejected. Like losing in gambling or gaming, even if there’s no real life consequences for that.

Stop demonizing perfectionism in the name of progress.

If anything, perfectionism is the drive that makes us be at and do our best. Progress should mean doing and being our best more.

Your fear of mistakes is holding you back. That is what you should criticize. It has nothing to do with perfectionism. Just because you made no mistakes does not necessarily mean that your work didn’t suck. It could be of horrible quality, even though it is entirely free of any mistakes.

You can avoid making any mistakes by doing nothing at all. But you cannot make progress by compromising quality in favor of quantity.

The quality of your work could always decrease if you keep lowering your standards for the sake of making more progress. And then, all this quantity you’re proud of will be trash, at least in terms of quality or how good it really is.

You have to aim for perfection, even if you didn’t reach it. You still have to aim for it intentionally, and do your best anyway, in order to not suck colossally.

At the same time it doesn’t mean sleep on the same piece of content forever, because quantity doesn’t matter. This is how you get reward that makes you sane and able to keep being functioning. This is how you become able to move, so you need more quantity. More achievement. So you just need to be fast. Smarter. Not hateful of being a perfectionist.

Simply put, Make a ton of work, that every single piece of it is just perfect.

More work, all with perfect quality.

Aim for the highest quantity of output, with every single part of that output being perfect in every way possible or imaginable.

Even if you didn’t hit that target, or reach that standard or goal, your work will still be amazing.

Do not lower the quality of your work to make more quantity. Learn to make more quantity of your work without decreasing your work’s level of quality.

You will not get reward from low quality work. Even if the quantity is infinite.

Only when your work starts surpassing a certain level of quality will you start getting enough reward from or because of it.

Nevertheless, don’t think that this kind of reward will last forever. You will want more. And here is where quantity of work will come in handy.

You ask everyone is quality better than quantity? They all say yes.

You ask them again, is progress better than perfectionism? Or is more quantity of work done better than trying to make that work perfect? They all say yes as well.

Ironic, isn’t it?

The power of mass indoctrination.

None of these people criticizing perfectionism are producing more content or work by sacrificing their perfectionistic tendencies for the sake of more output.

They all produce masterpieces that say fuck perfectionism. Just do it, with disregard to quality, because making progress matters more.

Let that sink in. They all never compromise perfectionism.

Also you don’t keep raising your standards ad infinitum in the same single piece of content until you are stuck in it forever. You need to be smart. Get everything you wanted to say written, in the best way possible, as fast as you can, and then leave. Don’t take forever. This doesn’t mean decreased concern for the quality of your posts, articles, books, or content. This just means you did your best without sacrificing quality for the sake of anything else. You did not compromise quality for the sake of making more progress.

You think aiming for some degree of excellence is better than succumbing to perfectionism?

On the contrary, there could always be something else that could’ve been done to enhance the quality of your work. Your work could always have been better if you did this or that. Aiming for a certain level of excellence will make you unable to leave now anyway regardless of the quality. That is why everybody hates perfectionism. When you aim for perfect from the start, you don’t keep trying to increase the quality to meet a certain standard. You aim for everything to be epic from the start to the best of your ability. In this case you will never have a hard time leaving the piece of art, content, or your work, because even though it’s not the best, or perfect by any standard, you did everything in your power from the start to make it not suck. You went all in. And now you can leave it without feeling bad about it. Being at peace with your work is priceless, and is always worth the effort.

Stop denying yourself reward. Don’t turn your creative endeavor into labor.
