In DotA, the team who goes high ground first, is more likely to win.

Even if they’re not ready enough for it. Even if they have no advantage whatsoever over the enemy.

It doesn’t mean they’ll definitely win. It doesn’t mean they’ll never lose. But their chances of winning compared with the enemy team is at least 90 percent.

It’s true for TI, it’s true for average Archon, it’s true for divine.

It’s true, even if you’re not strong enough to stomp and team wipe the enemy team easily without aegis.

Basically Yatoro’s plan was always the same. Farm until you can fight, get the aegis, push to end, fail, get the aegis again even if it’s highly contested and it makes more sense to split push at that moment, and then attempt another high ground push, hit the barracks and only attack the enemy heroes if they try to stop you.

Now the enemy does a desperate full team jump (goosebumps, where’s synderen and sunsfan when you need them), in a futile attempt to reverse the situation, double buybacks ringing in the background, the fight never ends, and the outcome is the same.

Your team has failed the high ground push if you lose that fight.

The enemy team is all dead without buybacks if they lose that fight.

They have everything to lose in high ground defense. You have nothing to lose.

If I was Yatoro’s master, I would fight with him for making it so obvious that he’s obsessed with getting the aegis off of cool down like this.

All the enemy team need to do now is ward around Roshan, farm their jungle, and wait for you to come alone for the aegis. Ambush after ambush until you’re done.

Didn’t happen because TI players are not as smart as you guys think they are. They just have extremely high action per minute and “good strategy” and team coordination.

Time after time I saw a team decide to go end even though they weren’t strong enough to team wipe the enemy team at all at the moment.

They just did it, even when not ready.

Start BEFORE you’re ready. ~ Marie Forleo

I sat back in the backyard of my imaginary mansion and thought to myself, man, I’ve never pushed high ground to end EVER, my whole life, even in Herald.

My plan was always, become strong enough, six slotted, unkillable, chase the enemies around the map, solo kill three of the enemy team randomly and single handedly, and then ping your team to attack the enemy tier two towers until end, even though we were losing whole game long because my poor teammates were playing 4 v 5, because I’m a griefer antimage farming all game long..

No wonder I was stuck in Herald for years.

Now what I’m saying here goes against EVERYTHING you’ve been ever taught. Even 11k MMR god-like coaches like pain DotA say never ever go high ground when enemies are still alive. They all have an advantage up there.

Guess what, TI players never listened. They didn’t get the memo. That’s why they’re competing in TI and you’re stuck in the trench.

The trench is not Herald, it is not divine. The trench is stagnation. ~ Jedi Grandmaster Zquixotix

They take risks. You don’t.

A very careful man. A cautious man.

You’re not cautious Mr. White. ~ Gustavo Fring

You keep walking on eggshells, trying to avoid making mistakes, thinking that this is how you gain MMR. Thinking somehow that this makes you a better player.

Even your boy speed thinks you make more mistakes, and that’s why you are low MMR.

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MAKING MISTAKES.

It’s all about controlled risk taking.

Not recklessness and intentional throwing, and certainly not disinhibition that makes you blink ulti before you ping your teammates twice before you jump in.

But you made the jump.

Losers hesitate for too long to make the cold approach, until the girl is gone.

You just stay behind, because you don’t want to make mistakes.

And you only jump in when it’s already a lost cause, and one or two of your teammates are already dead.

It’s not dying you need to be afraid of. It’s not having lived in the first place.

There was this game where I got a RAMPAGE on Ursa from the very first team fight, mid at around minute 8 or 10.

There was no reason to aim for something like that. The name DEFENSE of the ancients is highly misleading and obsolete. It is OFFENSE of the ancients now.

You were told that the only way to win this game is to play passively, play defensively.

And for some reason you believed them.

You were deceived, and now your ancient, shall fall. ~ Darth Malgus

Okay, here’s why the name of the game shouldn’t change.

First of all, the name DotA, is cool AF. Listen to Bass Hunter DotA song and you’ll understand.

Also, you must be aware of the fact that offense is the best defense.

So even if you play extremely aggressively, and do nothing but hyper unprovoked offense all game long, you are still defending your ancient, by driving the enemy back away as far as humanly possible from it, and forcing them to remain on the defensive as much as you can.

So you were playing defensively, despite the excessive offense and attacks all game long, like Kenobi puts it, from a certain point of view.

I could’ve sat back passively thinking we are not losing the fight. Just stay there and wait for the right opportunity.

I didn’t.

I saw the rampage from miles away, and I went for it.

THE ENEMY TEAM BOUGHT BACK TO TP BACK TO A TIER ONE MID TOWER. Just because they were raging.

Relax guys, I’m the Ursa, I’m the one who’s supposed to be enraged.

This is what all chat is for by the way.

I am the same guy. Same potential. Same skill. Same MMR. Nothing has changed, except I went for it. I did the cold approach, and now I got the date with a ten out of ten supermodel, which is the equivalent of a real life Rampage if you know what I mean.

I saw the potential of killing all five of them, and I did not over think it. I didn’t do it because it is necessary for victory. I did it, because I can.

We’ll take him together.

I’ll take him now!

No, Anakin, no, NO! ~ Master Kenobi

Only this time, I was the Grandmaster.

The rebels are alert to our presence..

The reason behind your stagnation when it comes to gaining MMR or DotA in general is because you’re afraid of dying, losing, throwing, failing, making mistakes, and getting reported, and serving a low priority punishment sentence.

You’ll remember you don’t believe in any of that fate crap. You’re in control of your life, remember? ~ The Oracle

You don’t want to learn from the pros, you don’t want to learn from me. You only learn from the 11k MMR hyper careful and cautious content creators. Thinking that all you need to gain MMR is less mistakes, and a better farming speed.

Not gonna happen. You will NEVER gain MMR, you will never climb. And you will never get out of the trenches of DotA.

Because unlike you, your enemies always, ALWAYS, have nothing to lose.
